Tri-County Special Education Services USD 495 - Mixed Abilities Special Education Teacher
Position Overview: Fort Larned USD 495 is seeking a dedicated Mixed Abilities Special Education Teacher. This position offers a generous paid special education supplemental. This role involves working with students with a range of abilities, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), and providing support to ensure students reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with mixed abilities.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on student progress and goals.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and other required documentation.
- Provide professional development and support to colleagues regarding special education practices and strategies.
Qualifications:
- High or Low Incidence Special Education Endorsement, or willingness to obtain an endorsement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience working with students with mixed abilities is preferred.
